Title: Towing with my ZJ
Post by: ZJ Brad on April 18, 2009, 08:38:13 PM
Anyone else tow a caravan with their ZJ? I just bought a Pennine Pullman folding camper. I have the tow package on my 99 ZJ which has the 7 pin connector on the towbar but the caravan also has a 7 pin "supplemental" connector colored grey that has power provisions for reversing lights, refridgerator power and a couple others. I guess what I am wanting to know is if anyone has wired this connector and where they wired it to? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,
Brad

I don't know much about towing electrics, but you might want to have a look here and follow the link to the wiring instructions: http://www.towsure.com/product/2971-N_&_S_(Twin (http://www.towsure.com/product/2971-N_&_S_(Twin" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;))_Wiring_Kit_(Standard)

Cheers Mate, Thats got me closer then I was before. From looking at that I could replace my 7 pin with a 12 pin and then run a 12 pin to adaptor to my 2 7 pins on the camper and avoid having the two plugs. just need to find where to pick up power for the fridge and what not now. shouldn't be too difficult to run a dedicated lead though.

Cheers,
Brad
