Title: might have found a new engine, but.....

I might have a lead on a complete running AMC V8 from a Rambler, well a choice of 2 actually don’t know if its a 290, 304, 343, 360, 390 or a 401, but am I right in thinking they would all fit? not at the same time

AMC discontinued the Rambler after 1969, and the Gen 3 V8s didn't start until
1970, so it's probably a Gen 2 short deck. That means it's going to be a 290,
343 or 390. Dunno if it will fit. They were only made for 4 years, so parts may
not be the easiest to get.

bring it round mine an i will tell ya  some ramblers used a buick patern bellhousing

I still have the bellhousing fron the SR4, was going to use that as a pattern

My 360s all have "360" cast into the block, I assume 304 and 401 will be the same.
