Title: XJ Oil pressure sender

(1998, 2 pin black plastic one)  What type of sender is it? resistance or something else? Getting +5v at the loom plug  and good -ve, think I may have a DOA sensor  :banghead:

I've an old one with an intermittent fault in the garage - I think!

Any readings I can take off it for you?

old one reads .5 bar all the time, mech pressure guage gives 3.5 bar hot so pump is okay. Put a new one in and I get nowt. Its not a resistance sender, getting nothing in ohms off either one i have, wonder what gubbins is inside it?

my oil pressure gauge was readin all over the place , changed it and now perfect . 23 quid from unipart.
