when I got my jeep the previous owner started to use something like wonder wheels on the alloys but it has taken off aload of lacquer, (not me, I only know because I used it on the toyota... :wink:

nevermind, i just thought since they were coming off I could just have done with `em and paint them all black.
1cm bigger wheels wont get me much further than sticky puddles....

anyway, picked em up today and my mindian friends put them on for £20 with help from me + rob!
took less than 1/2 an hour, forgot they did tyres where i get lpg in Walsall
stuff the wheels, if I get bigger ones and lift it (next year, the year after.... ) i`ll bin em anyway
doubt we will hill n ditch tomorow, there`ll be other times...

but the best thing was finding some monster munch in the size they used to be, really big!

Similar Issue:
My Fiat has a large cast alloy filler cap; water lifted the laquer (as it does on alloys); the tried & tested solution is to remove it & strip it with nitromors; this shifts the lacquer; you then lightly polish it & all good. It worked fine for me.
So maybe you could scale it up & do your rims (prob best to take the tyres off). Youll be left without lacquer but hey who needs it; my MT Classics are unfinished, you just need to keep on top of the salt deposits in the winter.

but I just can`t help picking the lacquer off, its like picking at scabs, i`m terrible for it
I`ll get the worst off and then do one at a time, it`ll look a mess but it does already
