Hi,
I have a 2002 Grand Cherokke 2.7 CRD and today when I left work and turned out of the drive I found I had lost full lock to the left.
The steering turns just about 1 full turn and stops but if I turn right the wheel will turn 1 and 3/4 times.
I have looked at the all fluids, are topped up and no leaks the steering wheel is straight.
Can anyone help me out to what it could be as I have looked and the set up and it looks simple, I just need to be pointed to where to look and what could be the problem.
Cheers

Steering box.

Just throwing that in there as a maybe. Also check all your linkages are clear, no branches or stones in
there.

Ouch, looks like it is the steering box. First, it ain't gonna be cheap, so be ready to spend a few hundred. Try the dealer, Lighthouse Jeep and Mansfield 4x4 for prices (numbers in Suppliers section).
Have a look in the workshop manual (try scribd.com) for instructions.

Little update,
I took the Jeep down to the garage where we then put it up on the ramp to see if we could find out if the box was faulty, when on full lock right the was still a lot of movement in the box and could make it turn more to the right as it was hitting the stops.
So we undone the ball joint that goes on the pit man arm and moved it so it was fully over to the right, we then move the rod arm so it would fit back in the pitman arm and then tried it at full lock left and low and behold it went on full lock left.
We also noticed that all the front track arms/ball joints where new and still had the mopar stickers on so it must have been replaced at some time and not set up right. So now I have full lock from left to right, but now I have an out of line steering wheel. Can the wheel just be removed and lined back up or is it on key way or just a spline?
Cheers

It has a master (key) spline....

It has a master (key) spline....
So I take it that I would not be able to remove the steering wheel and just re centre it ???

You can move the wheel....

You should centre the 'wheel by adjusting the drag link.
