Title: xj issues?
Post by: mikesknives on May 14, 2009, 01:39:48 AM
Hi all

Project XJ is half way done. it's rebuilt and on the road (when the weather clears I'll take some pics and stick it in the rides section).

I'd just like your thoughts on a couple of issues I'm having.  Firstly I bought JKS disconnects for a 2" lift and they seem a trifle long and the swaybar angle is rather high.  How important is this? JKS recommend 15 degrees but I reckon I'm at least 30.  I can cut them down if neccessary.

Secondly my steering seems a bit noisy at all times It's got the correct Jeep atf4 in it. Recon box and it seems to be bleed properly.

Lastly lots of slack in the rear diff, is there any easy adjustment or just wait for it to give up and then upgrade?

Cheers

Mike

are your disconnects not the threaded ones mate? as for the steering noise have a look and see if the atf is frothy if so you still have air in it. as for the d35 how much slack is in it? do you have any lift in the bearings if you grab the yoke or is it just on twist?

Yes the disco's are threaded but they're right up.

Just slack on twist.
