webbers require 7psi pressure if i remember, and the mechanical pump supplies slightly lower pressure for the 2bbl, this maybe an issue?
fitted an electric pump and regulator on mine with no issues, the mechanical pump is still fitted but with the inlet and outlet no connected and blanked off.
if it works now, leave it as is and monitor for potential fuel leaks.
swap the fuel filter for a single in and out as opposed to twin?
mine has the fuel return which takes the excess fuel back to the tank when the float bowls are full

positive crankcase pressure is self explanatory as the engine is naturally pressurised from the running of the engine albeit not a high pressure, unless there is serious wear to the internals.
The gasses are then reburnt in the combustion process, similar to an egr system on a diesel.
you can connect the cam cover to a catch tank with the PCV in the rear, shouldn't make too much of an issue and rout back to air filter. Any condensing fluids will be caught in the tank and the remaining oily gasses will be reburnt as intended.
just using one outlet on the rocker cover you will have to keep an eye on whether its capable of dealing with the "pressure" from a single outlet
