YJ 4.0 Clutch problem 1993
« on: June 24, 2009, 09:32:39 PM »

Hi,

Clutch was dragging a bit last time we used the Wrangler... now completly not working, Fluid all gone from master and bleed nipple on slave won't undo.

So it's box out and new slave yeah? If so really have to consider breaking it, as Lighthouse quotes £96 for slave and whilst the box is out I would change the plate and cover, so it's going to be £300-400 and that a complete Cherokee to us, which suits our needs...

Any advice, bright idea's?

If not so YJ's make good breakers? 4" lift and LPG system.....

Thanks in advance Maf

Wouldn't bother. The fluid can only disappear if there's a fault, and no amount of bleeding will fix it permanently anyway.

Thanks guys, you've confirmed what I thought... the bleed screw has been way to close to a LR and is proper rusty, it's about to shear off.

So that's it then, will break the YJ and stick with Cherokee's as they are much easier to get for cheap money, I have a pretty mad plan for my old one, redneck all the way....

This will be what I'll use for punch hunts etc, I can run my Swampers on it and 33" Maxxis

Cheers Maf
