XJ brake hose extensions

With a 3" lift & disconnects do I need to do this & if so front & back????

Opinions please guys.......

kd you need to get it all fitted up and then undo your disco,s and lift the truck up and see how the lines look. in some cases you can just relokate the bottom hose bracket and gain just enough. i think you should be ok but you do need to test it out by getting maximum flex. 8)

Fit a longer hose to the rear and at the front unbolt the bottom of the metal pipes on the inner fenders straighten out the S-bends and refix them lower down.

If you can afford it fit extended brake lines.  Seem to remember a long time ago a discussion on here about prices.  OffroadMDG's prices were competetive enough that someone (sorry can't remember who) was looking at me bringing a set up on one of my trips to Dudley.  If you are going to JeepFest Mark may even chuck a set in the back for you to have a skeg at, if he has any in stock.

I fitted a YJ rear brake hose fron Lighthouse to sort mine out with 3" lift. At full extension the fronts were actually ok - maybe I need to spend more on even longer shocks  :wink:

On my TJ everybody kept telling me if I went to 3-inches I would need longer brake lines. Needless to say Im just around 4-inches or heck maybe even a bit more and Im running stock brakelines on my TJ.

On the front of a TJ there is a clip that is screwed into frame just above the axle. I unscrewed the clip and pulled down the clip as far as it would go moving the hard line down with it. I gained roughly 2-inches in length on both sides and they work great.

If you have even a question do what you can do for free first then spend the extra cash. The YJ brake lines are longer than the TJ's for reference.  :D

For the rear I would simply follow your hard lines and see what and how they move to establish the rear. With my TJ I didnt do anything and there doesn't seem to be any problems.
