sorry if this subject has been covered so many times, however i'd like some advice as i'd really like to attend cheapfest on mt's as my at's have seen better days and as i live only a mile from the site i have no excuses about turning up
my tj is pretty much standard apart from a 2'' body lift and curently runs on 31'' colways 15'' rims, i'd like to go bigger if i can so my question is what is the maximum i can go for?

according to offroaders.com/info you can go to 32x11.5's on a 2" sussy lift

Not sure 'bout just a body lift tho.....

IMHO I'd stick with 31"s. They give more clearance than stock but allows sufficient room for articulation. You have the additional 'problem' of heading towards needing a regear over 31s too.

31's will do fine at cheapfest.I ran 31's 0n my cj for a good 2 years and had no problems at ribsford. Not sure but you may get away with 33's if you want to change. But the best thing to do is wait till one of the guys with a tj reply.

See you at cheapfest,,,,, Bring it in !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

thanks 4 the help guys, i have been to ribbesford a few times in the past and to last years yjj.
my tyres are gettin seriously low anyhow so will need to be replaced asap so i might see if i can find a set of 32's? or try borrow a set of 33's, but as manda say's re-gearing could become an issue.
i will deffinately be coming on the saturday an will look forward to meeting you all again, you may remember my jeep as the metalic green one with the tinted soft top windows.

I'll be there in a TJ (Hopefully) on 31's.... been having similar thoughts myself as the Muds on mine are getting worn now... Looked at a 2" body Lift and 1" Motor mount lift (Just to save moving the fan shroud too much, I believe you can move it an inch quite easily) then I should just about be able to fit 33's.... but.... You'll also need extended arches, wheel spacers of different backspaced wheels (Think it's higher backspacing, but can never remember) and look at a re-gear.... It's not loads of work, but it's a fair amount of work to get to 33's... Or, you go to a 4.5" lift as well and an SYE and put 35's on  8)

So I'll be there on 31's anyway....

That's a new description.... and no expletive either....

Evil "Slightly Warped" Ed

Sound like something out of star trek....

If you are serious, I would like to pop up (after the fuel shit) and have a ride in yours if I may, see  what the lift and tyres are like....

The down side is that all spending is on hold at the moment until I know what my jobs doing.... work is pissing me about again and I am suddenly not being invited to meeting I should be and someone who has read a book about computers seems to be attending in my place... :?  Got a few meetings to have this week to see what's going on, but if they don;t turn anything up, I may be in the same position as loads of you where I have to go contracting.... (Oh, and demand redundancy :D ) Got to put every penny away once CF is done for a few months to make sure I have a good buffer for if I go contracting....

Saying that, If all goes well, I may have about £5k to spend on the TJ in a few months time to trick it up a bit...... :D

touch wood and all that  :?
