Anyone know the legality of the fuel tank issue.......
Seeing as they are made of polywhatsit or steel, both not exactly bulletproof. I have researched the following and need to know if its kosher...
As I have LPG tank under the chequer plate rear tub I don't need a full YJ tank hanging underneath... (this is all to do with the rear winch mount scenario from a post last week)
Now,.... I spotted on a welding forum, that I am on, a bloke that made a tank from a Gas bottle.... In my case a 4.5kgs bottle would give me the height for the YJ and sender, obviously gas out and safety are paramount but after bottle is empty and filled with water and then top cut with hole saw they do make an extremely strong ready made fuel cell. (the bloke in question was building an off road only buggy) Anyone know the legality of all this, MOT I'm thinking?
Also spotted this piece of info on Pirate... To work on gas tanks (petrol) empty tank (obvious) and then fill with dry ice the ice will evaporate as it heats and take all petrol fumes out with it.... Industry practice some where Stateside apparently.
