knocking noise
« on: December 31, 2009, 11:23:19 PM »

just to let you know

i was doing some messing around in the filed near my mum and dads house, loads of deep snow just waiting for me to get tore about, all great fun for around half an hour in the dark.

next day, start the car,2.5 td cherokee 1998.real bad knocking noise when starting and turning off the engine, sounded like a bush or a bearing,or could have the oil in my gearbox have frozen,oh my god, what have i done to my cherokee, how do i tell the wife,am i sleeping in the car again?

anyway, looks under the car,a massive block of ice,and i mean massive on the cross member and over the gear box and gearbox support, getting into this with a rubber hammer did the trick,if i had took it to a garage god knows what they would have ripped me off for.

one to watch out for if you messing around in the deep snow.

regards to all
