Well today i did
« on: February 20, 2010, 10:38:23 PM »

Since i'm out of work i find i have no time for some reason. So today it was a day working on the jeep.

since there is a leak at the front from somewhere i checked around the front screen, the screen sealant was creating water traps so that was cleared out of the way to allow the water to run off properly. the metal underneath was treated to some rust eater as there was a bit showing. the window sides were then taped up to stop any water getting in and to allow it to dry. the window will then be sealed again with some additional sealant. The wiper assembly was then swapped to a set that didn't have any worn splines, the easiest job done today. The seats i got from Panic are now being fitted. these are of a internal facelift XJ and are not a straight bolt in, (i was aware of this). The rears are a straight swap but the fronts require two angle brackets for the front location points. The front carpets have been removed to allow them to dry out. these were cut out as it was easier to do it this way than to wrestle with a soaking wet one piece affair. the carpet was cut down the middle of the tunnel then down to the seatbelt anchor then across the floor through the two rear bolt points of the front seats. Now once the floor has dried out it's a case of cleaning some of the rust patches and coating the floor with some paint and sealant. With the seats carpet and centre console out of the way the power connector for the electric seats could be replaced.

can a mod shift this to the workshop section
