Moaning PAS, 2001 Grand

Hi Guys, you usually can help so here goes. 2001 Grand Cherokee 4.0 moans n groans when turning but only on right hand lock ?? Thought it was our lass at first :ecomcity: but gagged her n its still there  :icon_biggrin:, any thoughts?? Cheers  Peter.

you can get a deep rumble if the fluid is low

If you mean an intermittant kind of honk as you turn the steering, it's very common, Chrysler never managed to cure it in 5 years of production. Best you can do is ensure the oil is correct and in good condition.

bmw can't even quieten the electric whining noise from the mini's power assisted steering either

 :017:Cheers Guys, had the motor a year gone Sept but the noise has only started this last month or so. PAS fluid levels OK but does it deteriorate like the engine oil ? Thanks, Peter.
