auto oil change

hi all
just getting used to my jeep gc 1996 (first time jeep owner) and am planning to do some maintainance starting with a oil change on the auto box, is there any advice or tips that i could do with knowing  before hand also have heard about tightening the bands?????????? :lol:

front diff use a 3/8 drive ratchet but unless you have an oil sucker you will have to undo the ring of bolts on the front cover to drain the axel .bands unless its been thrashed to the moon and back dont worry draining the auto dont think there is a drainer plug so its off with the sump pan [new gasket please] oil will drain plenty fast so be warned. if you are gonna go this far you best put a new filter in there
