New calipers but still sticking???
«

Hi Guys,
A few months ago I had new front and rear calipers fitted as the rears started sticking and the front one locked on a couple of times.
The fronts now seem perfect but there is strong evidence to suggest that the rears are still sticking. The car still feels like it's dragging, the pads have worn down a huge amount and there is a pronounced lip on the rear discs but the front are smooth.
What could be the cause of this now? I have it booked in to a garage on tuesday to take a look so would like any info possible as I am stumped and want to be armed with more knowledge when they assess it.....
Thanks,
Jay

Ah now that sounds interesting. Both sides are sticking so does this hose feed both sides?
Thanks

Guess this hose is the last thing left given that it's had all new pads, discs and calipers and handbrake shoes!
Are there any other possibilities? Also, any ideas where I can source the part? I'm currently in Abergavenny south wales......
Thanks guys

Try main dealer and lighthouse in the suppliers section.

Anyone have a part number by any chance?
Could it still be handbrake related even if the handrake doesn't operate the pads? Or am I missing something?!
Thanks for all the help
Jay
also, they have been sticking since they were fitted.

pads creating a lip on the outside edge of the disk is a normal occurance, should not be an issue but it you don't like it just sand it back gently using a flap disk (grinding or cutting disk can be too aggressive)

I'm not worried the lip, I know this occurs, it was more so to use as a pointer that the rears are sticking as they have only done a few thousand miles and there is already a lip and the pads are worn massively but the fronts are barely worn down...
Doubt the pads have worn a groove as the calipers are new and seemed to be sticking from day 1.
Guess I'll just call up jeep and lighthouse to at least get a price.
thanks

Haha, well they're caked in brake dust so i'll leave it to the garage tomorrow to investigate further and see what they say. Thanks for all the help guys, looking forward to finally having a car that doesn't drag!

1. Master cylinder problems - pressure to rears not being released?
2. If this was a conversion to disks maybe too much rear bias now inefficient drums replaced?
3. Proportioning valve all bunged up and won't release rears?
4. Rear pads harder than fronts?
