Tj Rad
« on: July 12, 2011, 10:18:46 PM »

Hi,
I am thinking about putting my radiator in the back of my TJ (I run a truck cab) as everytime i go off road, my rad gets proppa full of mud. I recently installed a waterproof spal fan to replace my almost shot derale. And I have installed some bonnet vents to try and shift the air, when under high revs and low speed. I also have a twinmotor winch in the way which will hinder things somewhat. I am able to turn off my fan for when I go in deep water.
At the last event I was at it was like a summers day and whilst the spal managed to keep everything from boiling over, it was on the whole time, probably after the first dunking.

So I wonder if anyone else has stuck their rad in the back and if so how did you rote the pipework etc?

Thanks

Willo

done similar in stock cars before and we used hard fitted solid pipe to run front to back with normal rubber hoses to join the ends, as a rule we went 1/4" bigger I/D than the rubber hose we were replacing/extending with tube just so as to not restrict the flow
