LPG or Diesel please help
« on: November 07, 2011, 05:05:57 PM »

i currently drive a grd.and cherokee 4.7 with LPG.
to fill up lpg normally about 50 ish quid. and in town i i may poss get 200mls and on run ith no ac will get about 240.
the pain is that its regular fill ups so i wanted to compare with dsl 2.7 engine.
any idea how much to fill up and themls you get on full tank? i know this all depends on how you drive but i dont drive mine too hard.
perAlso any mechanical issues with the wj 2.7 dsl engine? is it ok to consider high mls if price is good?
also i will be doing a bit more mls during next year so looking at option that may be cheaper

AC makes that much difference  :icon_eek:

I never have my climate control off, might have to reconsider if that is a fact

just remember with a lpg tank it never holds full capacity so a 70L tank will only really hold @56L of actual gas as they have to leave room for expansion of the gas.

get a bigger tank. I have a 105l tank, costs about £65 to fill, does 280 of lead footed miles. I wouldn't get a 2.7 WJ, they seem fairly unreliable compared to the petrols

tank fits in spare wheel well and is a 70 ltrs i think>>>> interesting as i did not know you could get a bigger tank as that may be an option. i take it that it will take up alot more room and will it still fit in the spaere wheel space? also any idea how much to buy and install?

70 litre tank is about as big as you can fit in the spare wheel well, you can change the tank for a boot mounted one or get an underslung tank if you want bigger  but you need to loose part of the petrol tank for underslung and it won't hold much more.

my 105 is in the spare wheel well. It lifts the boot floor about 2" over it though, never bothered me.
