On the scrounge.......
« on: January 13, 2006, 06:15:31 PM »

If any of you guys have a garage full of CJ bits (winks at Bubba) perhaps I might be able to scrounge a couple of things - I'm thinking about you guys who have done the rear disc conversion on yer CJs.

I'm looking for the two little pushrods that go into the rear wheel cylinders (thereby hangs a tale of my own stupidity...) and also the little dust cover thing that sits over the rear wheel bearings inside the drum brake back plate ( Item 16 )

Any help much appreciated.

OK OK OK!

Picture my eager anticipation of the impending arrival of my box full of bits from Florida.  So I gets stuck into the left rear brake stuff - rusty as hell. All of it.  So I strip out the shoes, springs, blah blah blah.  The wheel cylinder is just a ball of rust.

So I thinks hmmmmm I got a new one arriving this week.  So I tossed it.  All of it.

WELL I DIDN'T KNOW THE "ROCKING HORSE SHIT" PUSHRODS (WHICH WERE NOT SO RUSTY

So when my stuff arrived I was like a 2 year old at christmas.

Until I got to the wheel cylinders.

Find me some and I may confess to more.........fuck I should write a book!
