rustproof primer
« on: December 27, 2011, 11:58:04 AM »

Seasons greetings and all that jazz,

Any recommendations for a decent aerosol primer that's rustproof (ie not hammerite) as the front grill needs some attention and the wife and kids are away on new years day and it will give me some fettling time

Try POR-15, normally sold as brush on - it's really good.

They have an aerosol coating but I havn't tried it yet.

I was thinking of using Eastwood Rust Encapsulator Paint - Flat Black Aerosol from Frost Automotive, but I didn't know por15 came in spray cans, I've only recently got it off my hands and face from when I painted the chassis.

I've never had much luck with kurust, I just seem to end up with purple dribble marks on the paint work
