Grand Cherokee WH 4.7 V8 2006 Common faults

Hi,

Looking at one of these, any commom faults? Only 60k with FSH, rear tyres are wearing on outer egde... tie bar bushes?

over fussy gearbox and they don't seem to like lpg that much.

As long as you have flash lube on LPG your ok, As for the gearbox Rob is talking from experience from lying on my drive. The gear box can be fussy but there are lots of sensors that can be changed at little cost I have found out.

Usual electrical gremlins, and the 4.7 cannot be compared in quality and longevity to the 4.0.
It's an OK engine, but it's not great. If you can find a 5.7, that would be better.

Too much drifting around roundabouts - Ford Capri stylee.

Or like the Porsche 944 I picked up for cheap as chips... proper old skool 80's tastic...  :icon_super:

Maf has found one of the the fairly rare 4.7 WK/WH's I believe.

Got Jeep, drove lovely, we took it back on a backwards deal on a PX for an Astra estate... we sold it in under 12 hours... happy days...

Would say a 5.7 is the way forward though, 4.7 went well, but bit more would be better IMO..

One thing I wondered... why on earth did they fit just one bonnet ram when previous models failed with two?
