new lighting project
« on: February 10, 2012, 11:02:33 PM »

my mate has been making these light modules for mountain biking for a while now, his have been mounted in a bit of tube and run for 12 hrs on 3 AA batteries and brighter than HID headlights, we have now sorted a 12V version and I still don't believe how small they are and the range. the test module is brighter and has a longer range that the ZJ on high beam and this is just a single.

got a couple of ideas for cases, thinking of mounting 2 in a cowl scoop on the CJ or might use some the alloy billet I have or we have some 1.25" brushed stainless tube that would make a tiny light bar, but 4 of these and it's like driving in daylight :003:

Depending on price, I'd be interested in complete 3V units for the bike.

I've currently got a USE 120Lumen LED on the mountain bike but the battery only lasts about 50mins on max power which is a bit shit on a night ride.  I would be interested in the loose cans too, cos if they're as good as they sound they'd make a prefect helmet mounted light (or head light at that).

Very much depends on the quality of the LED though
