If you get caught, you'll be in terubble... :)

Also, you don't want damp in the system if you can help it.

Before you re-gas it, make sure you replace the dryer (A lot of places don't)

If you have R12, you may have problems getting it re-gassed.

You "Should" get it reclaimed by a proper firm! after all, you'll be killing us all when the sea rises 16M because of global warming and CFCs

Then you should get it reclaimed, that's the right way to do it.....

Never known anyone do that though.

And of course, if you slipped with the screwdriver and put it through one of those crappy tubes..... :)

If we all acted irresponsibly towards the environment KD what state will the world be in for our children and our children's children. You should think twice before letting poisonous gasses into the air to destroy the ozone layer - I'll be off in my 5.7l V8 now

You must get the refrigerant recovered by a specialist because it is illegal to deliberately discharge it into the atmosphere. Anyone who loosens a pipe slowly until it starts to leak and lets it empty slowly, doesn't do it in a confined space, wears thick gloves and goggles to avoid frostbite injuries etc. should be ashamed.
This isn't me telling you this but someone irresponsible who's stolen my identity.
