2.5 TD Grands

Maybe xjs to.
For a start, I haven't got a workshop manual for a deisel !

Today, whilst changing the starter motor & the oil pressure switch, I noticed the following.
don't forget disconnect the battery  also, disconnect the turbo hoses & tie out of the way

2, Disconnect the oil pressure switch & starter wires & the 3 wires to the pdc box behind the battery & ***remove the battery cable/harness****

3, get yerself a trolley jack, a lump of wood & support the engine, now loosen the two remaining bolts to the starter, taking the starter bolt out, but leaving the one in the block there, otherwise a starer motor on the head will result.

4, Undo the top engine mounting bolt, but leave the bolt in there

5, now you can go below & remove the last bolt & wiggle the starter out, you can disconnect the turbo drain, I didn't.

Now do the same but in reverse to re install
Now the're fixed  :)
this spur of the harness was routed to go underneath, the heavier battery cables  :banghead:  :D )
