Vacuum bottleunder bumper

Be gentle as this is my firstpost,just got myself an XJ for a bit of playing and just making a front bumper.On the ns behind the bumper is a plastic vacuum ball,does anyone know what its for and can I just remove it and blank the pipe off.Its a 4.0 lt by the way,cheers in advance.

heater control stuff IIRC, you need it anyway

Yeah, found one of those behind mine bumper when fitting a winch bumper. Just reconnected and remounted it same place on new bumper. :) hadn't a feckin clue what it was but thought best to keep it. Lol

just extend the small hose and put it in the engine bay, the hoses on these do perish and leak resulting in some issues
