Cherokee Not Starting
« on: August 25, 2012, 03:21:13 PM »

As mentioned in my intro post (i'm new here!) I 'parked' my 03 Cherokee 2.8 Auto CRD on a fence.  Got the car to a garage who initially told me it was near side suspensions damange. Turned out to be whole new suspension, steering rack etc. The Radiator was also replaced. The car was starting and running when I took it to 'em, so i know it was sound in that respect - just needed the suspension and bodywork sorted.

when I went to pick it up I was told I couldnt drive it away as
1 - there was no wheel arch extension fitted so top of tyre was exposed and
2 - the car wasn't starting as the keys weren't recognised.

The sentry key symbol is appearing on the dash, and the car is trying to start but just won't fire up.  I'm guessing the immobiliser has been activated somehow.

I should stress that I dont have a clue about anything technical/ under the bonnet etc. And apparently I dont know how to drive either!!

Any info/ guidance/ suggestions will be very welcome.

I really sont want to flat bed it over to the dealership :-(

Thanks for your response classic. unfortunately my jeep doesn't have the '[anic' alarm quoted in the instructions.  My fob is different to that one  :-(

The frustration continues...............just a matter of time before I allow myself to be financially raped at the dealer!!

The remotes have nothing yo do with the Sentry Key system. Try your spare key, if the Jeep still won't go, the garage have f*cked it up. It's down to them to fix it.

Tried the spare key too - no go!  The garage i put it into is really just a body shop so they basically can't do anything! I'd be wary about giving it back to them now anyways!!!

Door - 2839
Ignition - M0806

Anyone know it these can be put into the radio as its asking for a code??
