transfer case swop
« on: September 16, 2012, 07:21:42 PM »

Will a 231 transfer case bolt straight in place of a 242 case. 231 is from a manual gearbox and is going on to an auto box, it will get a hack and tap sye  and have a Tera flex 4lo and 2lo in place. It is just one of the many ideas that i have running about in my head. I just want to go this route to lower the gearing. I think its a mod done in the USA by the Cherokee guys. After seeing how capable Jame's Cherokee is it has made me want to sort mine out. And will any of you want any parts from a R reg 2.5 petrol Cherokee if i buy a complete vehicle for the axles and transfer case.

The 231 from a 2.5 petrol has a smaller spline count input (21?) so you need one from a diesel. I might be interested in a few bits if you get one though. Maybe some body panels and manual seats / seat bases
