I am still debating on what way to go with the wiring and power supply.

Option 1 is to use the split charger I have with a single alternator. This is straight forward and keeps the Jeep electrics separate then the Aux equipment and just takes wiring.

Option 2 is to possibly install my spare alternator and and keep the batteries in parallel. This would give me the benefit of a large storage bank and a fairly high amp supply. I have one question about the alternator wiring though.

I have two TJ 117 Amp alternators but the ECU handles the voltage regulation. Would it be possable to connect the field wire together for both alternators to the ECU? My question is if the ECU would see the two alternators as one unit and control the voltage correctly with both alternators sharing the load or if the whole thing would go up in evil smoke.

You will need a separate reg for the second alternator or you will get smoke and a dead ecu
