Front diff air raid siren
« on: November 30, 2012, 07:53:49 PM »

Ok my front diff has been on its way out for a while now and i have been putting off the inevitable

Gonna change out the oil this weekend and add some lucas additive to quieten things down a bit.

Had a chat with a diff and gearbox dude and he thinks i need to change the crown and pinion and all bearings i was thinking just bearings.

The noise comes in when on load and off load, there is a lull in the noise when i come off the throttle and back on so i know it aint hubs or axle bearings bearings
in the diff.

Thinking i may just change out the axle, does anyone know if all 4.7 had the same diff ratio i.e 4.7 HO/4.7 non HO, or am i on another hunt for a 2004 truck with a low mileage diff.

Is carlos fandango my man for this or do i plum for a breaking one near me 4.7 HO.

FFS it never ends and its all diffs at the mo  :banghead:
