Good old mr. Haynes
To remove the shafts,
Remove split pins and slacken nuts in centre of hubs, Do this with the wheels on and Jeep on the ground they are VERY tight.
Jack up, wheels off.
Caliper and disc off (disc could be rusted on).
3 spline head bolts out of rear of hub assemblies (use 12 point 13mm socket)
Remove the hub nut and pull the hub assembly out of the steering knuckle (can be rusted in), the shaft might come with it.
Remove the shaft.
If the oil level in the diff is a bit high, or the vehicle is leaning, you might get some oil run out of the axle tubes.
Take care to ease the shafts back in gently so as not to damage the inboard oil seals.
The hub nuts are tightened to 165 ft/lb.
Have fun.
