Grand Cherokee 2007 3.0 CRD Auto, common faults?
« on: December 04, 2012, 04:23:06 PM »

Hi,

A friend is looking at the above and I wondered if there are any common faults or what people thought of them? Good or bad?

Thanks in advance Maf

Great BUT seriously complicated electrics like most modern cars. Nothing serious or unfixable but nothing seems to be cheap either. I've spent about £1700 on parts, servcing and fixing an electrical problem in 10 months but I have done 30k miles in that time and have a small list of advisory type stuff to sort too (new front prop CV, pads and discs all round, new tyres).

Good friend of ours has a 2005 3.0 CRD. Took it to a non jeep dealer for service who, in trying to set the service record in to the OBC screwed it, cost him £600 to sort. They are stuffed with computers, and apparently only licensed software operators can enter info, these are generally Jeep dealers. His car ended up at Gills who found lots of things missed on the service including the computer the total cost over 4/5 months was close to 2k he does love it though.
