Hi all,  I have  2001 xj with a rc 4.5"rough country lift I got a good deal on a set of 265 75 r16 Tyres which are screaming to be put on, having done alot of searching there seems to be mixed opinion on whether they will rub or require body trimming, does anyone have any experience with a set up like this andhave any advice on any problems that may come up or parts required like spacers etc.

The lift is fine but you will need to:
Add extra bumpstop
Adjust steering stops to restrict turning circle or fit wheel spacers, offset wheels or a combination
Probably trim some plastic from the rear edge of front bumper end cap, maybe similar from rear.

You will notice a change in gearing as you have gone from around 28" tyres to nearly 32" tyres.

Yes they will fit but will rub when flexing unless you cut and space bumpstops, also gearing will be poor.

Thanks for the responses, I am thinking will try to find a cheap set of wheels to mount the tyres on first to mock up any trimming required as willl be doing it at work so don't want to get it stuck there due to rubbing issues, regarding the gearing what should I expect?  Short gear change and loss of power? And if so what is the best way to overcome the gearing problem?

Am starting to think maybe better off selling these and getting some 31"currently running 235 70 16

I have tried to attach a photo hopefully it works!
The back end has come up better since I made up some springs and fitted the aal as my springs were fairly shot

It's a good combo, you won't get stuck at work, the rubbing will be on full suspension flex offroad and full steering lock - you'll hear it and can ease off the lock until you adjust the stops.

Ok all done tyres on, no rubbing during on road diving, speedo compared to gps shows only a 2 mph difference and hear change seems unaffected at the minute however that may change once learnt values have changed in ecu so all in all a win  :icon_biggrin:Thanks for all the advice and hopefully I have uploaded some photos of the new set up.

Hi Thanks for the comments I am very happy with it,
XJfan , they are strip led lights that I made up, had a problem with my side light wiring just before mot so mocked these up to replace liked them so much that they turned into some driving lights. They look great at night will try to get a photo
