Air Con Help Required
« on: April 30, 2014, 10:15:14 AM »

Hi Troops,

moved to Dubai last year and bought  a 2006 Wrangler.  Its starting to hot up here now so air con is a must.  When I got the car I noticed that if I put the blower onto face level only (cold obv) then warm air would blow into the footwell. This has now started to happen when I put the blower onto face and foot level as well.  Warm air alos comes from the top vent at the two side louvres!

Any idea what is causing this? It's now 38 degrees here and I'm driving with extremely hot feet day-to-day!

I'd also lie to know if there is some way to beef up the AC, i.e make it more powerful/ colder!

Any advice is greatly appreciated!

Have you re-gassed the AC? Or had it serviced?

Be aware too much refrigerant can result in cooling ability as well, so try and avoid the top up cans and get the correct amount put in.

Aircon systems do start to lose performance after a couple of years

In dubai, you're never going to be cold in a Jeep even when the aircon is working properly...Start off with getting the refrigerant removed and recharged...

For the Summer, get a Toyota.
