While we are talking Tyre Pressures
« on: June 23, 2014, 07:58:40 AM »

The L200 is now running 265 70 17

It feels a bit twitchy and at motorway speeds very eager to feel every lump in the road.

Current pressure the garage put in was 34psi.

Googling various L200 stuff there is a varied recommendation from 26psi up to 36+.

Book pressure is 31psi but that is for 245 65 17’s.

Any thoughts, my initial ones are to run at 28psi?

Dog Car has the same size tyre, run them at 34, no problems towing or road use.

Right oh. Well it's 100% not balancing. It's was in at dealer for a recall and they said they couldn't see any issues. But to be honest I am not convinced they looked that hard.

On the WK and I run at 36 unloaded and 38 loaded / towing. It doesn't like 32 and below and the TPMS comes on at 30.

Tyres do vary though, maybe give it a try with lower pressures, there probably isn't much weight over the rear when it's empty.

Right just driven up to Leeds at 28psi and it is worst. Going to up at a garage before I leave to come home to 38?

If it's still crap is garage time and see what's up

Tyre pressure gauges are wildely innacurate and the pressure your gauge reads at doesn't mean

a: its accurate

b: the same as others.

Its just a case of trial and error depending on the way you drive, the roads you drive and loads you carry. If your tyre won't balance it could be the bias in the tyre, have you tried a front to back swap.

Front to back swap is next on the list of things to do. Just trying to get an hour free. I deffo think it's something like that. As all was ok before new tyres went on.
