non start kj
« on: September 05, 2014, 08:07:48 AM »

Hi guys, I'm kinda hoping one of you technical wizards can point me in the right direction please....

Went to look at a non start 2.8 KJ last night, the woman has come back from Kings Lynn in it, turned it off and it won't re-start, it cranks fine, no fault codes, I tried her spare key, still nothing, had a quick look at the fuel filter, no air in the bowl underneath & no air if I prime it! I didn't have many tools with me so was a bit limited & didn't have any brake cleaner with me to give it a sniff either!
Is there anything obvious on these I need to look out for straight away? before I start getting too deep into it!
Cheers guys!!!!

Had this, was the crank sensor, doesn't give fault codes when it dies. You can scope it with a multimeter while still attached, you will have to google the values though

Or possibly the Nuetral safety switch if its an auto, give the gear changer a wiggle when trying to start it  :icon_winkle:
