Dana 20 info
« on: January 05, 2015, 04:59:05 PM »

Hello all,I need a little help,I'm looking for description, pics or anything really of the Union between a T 18 4 speed and a Dana 20 transfer,I'm trying to figure out a divorced 20 transfer  set up to mate to a ZF S 5 42...I think divorcing it is my only option,I have a  D 20 (courtesy of IrishCJ6)which had been divorced (badly by previous/previous owner) for playing with but I thing the input shaft is too short to work..im my head I need 2 bearings in the input but does the mated D20 input/coupler sit into /held by the D20 rear output shaft some way?the input shaft on the box I have is a 10 spline (slightly larger OD than output 10 splines)with a nut holding the gear on,I presume it was cut from its original mate to make divorce input,I currently have a T18/D20 combo in the truck but the 4 speed is a good upgrade for IrishCJ so I don't want to hack the Gbox output.any help appreciated thanks

Why don't you want to use the original setup?

thanks bubba,it will be cool.lot of figuring out to do but doable and done before just not as easy to get the bits and pieces together here as it would in US or even UK im sure,a divorced NP 205 would be nice but not so easy to find/afford,I'm sure I'll get the 20 sorted anyway
