Removing Mahindra drums

my guys are finding it VV difficult to remove the drum brakes in order to fit the new brake cylinders

They are grumbling about tapered fit! And brake pulley not working

Any advice please

we really need to get them off to fit the cylinders

If they are anything like old land rover drums.

Then a big dead low hammer to help back the shoes off whilst using a pry bar either side to lever off.

Heat as a last resort.

nope you need a good quality hub puller that pulls on the studs and it needs to be at the very least a three leg puller

the studs pass through the drum and drive flange  if you try to pull off the flange alone you will just bend the flange and end up with what apears to be buckled wheels

this is a two piece hub using a tapered shaft and hub very simaler to jeep cj7   and jeep cj2a it works well but is a little awkward in the workshop
