As the title says gents.

New last year with approx 10 K miles mostly M-way miles - driver not tearaway dickhead drifter.

Bought in Manchester area Quickfit.

I don't know what a re-mould looks like but am I looking at one ?

Thanks.

Usually caused by incorrect tyre pressures.
Had a similar problem a few years back.
Only mine wore out the center of the tread.

Agreed on the most likely cause being low tyre pressure and possibly a tracking problem although it could have been wandering because of the low pressure causing extra wear one side.

If it's knocked the tyre out in 10k miles, the pressure must have been down for some time, did the owner not check his tyre pressures regularly?

definitely tyres under pressure for prolonged period, so possibly he has had a slow puncture of some form, tracking usually means wear on inside or outside edge not both.
while he is getting them replaced make sure he gets the lower suspension arms bushes checked as well, cheaper to replace the whole arm than single bushes one at a time.

Give these lot a try for tyres :

If he can fit them himself, he'll save a lot against the prices of Fik-Wit etc. and might even buy you a  :icon_jook: as a thank you.

Agree looks like low tyre pressure but, Front wishbone, rear bushes are also common on Fabias and polo's. Get them checked out too

just a note about tyretraders, they buy up out of date stock from the main tyre manufactures, some tyres they sell have been sitting on shelfs and tyre racks for 7 years.... I know used to work for goodyear/continental and we delivered them to them!

If the bushes are f**ked, use Seat Ibiza Cupra ones instead, they last forever.

Not so sure on that one :

http://www.camskill.co.uk/m62b0s291p97826/Falken_Tyres_Car_Falken_ZE914_Ziex_Ecorun_Falken_ZE_914_-_205_55_R16_91V_TL_Fuel_Eff_%3A_C_Wet_Grip%3A_B_NoiseClass%3A_2_Noise%3A_70dB

£49.65 + £6.98 carriage from Camskill.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B007CYYNXM/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_44?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE

Same tyre, £40.94 from Amazon, free delivery. Nearly £17 difference each. Sadly can't find that Falken on Tyretraders just now although last time they had it, the price was within spitting distance of Amazon.

Hard to say though without knowing the exact size etc of the tyre in question although companies that do "Supply only" are always going to be much cheaper than fast-fit-autocentres.

Front wishbone rear bushes are very common for wear on Polo/Ibiza/Fabia, obviously start with the tyre pressure, would also get it checked out on MoT shacker plates for any aging/wear of suspension bushes...

And defo check the condition of the tyres more often, they don't wear out over night...

If he's passing Saltash we can check tyres/pressures and advice, tracking, suspension checks and new tyres all available... hope this helps.
