Anyone know if the UK spec cherry's came with 8.25 rears? In the states, abs equiped trucks got the 35, all others got the 8.25 at least after the mid 90's.

Don't the 4-bangers have a chrysler rear? 4.0 engined XJs have ABS, and therefore a dana.

2.5 petrols came with 8.25 rears........with 4.11 gears :wink:

got a clonk from rear eng when pulling a way (1996 2.5 td cherry) ok prob diff knackerd anything worth checking.

T'is probably the diff.  Try changing the oil.  Also have a look and see if there is excessive play in the UJs on the rear prop. :wink:
