Battery for the WK
« on: June 06, 2016, 07:53:32 PM »

Just picked up the WK after replacing input shaft seals front & back.  Advisory said they were weeping a month ago so better do something about that before diffs run out of oil.

Had it done at my Jeep Service Point and as customary they give the truck a full check over. Regretfully the numpty that did the check turned the inside light volume selector on the left stalk to 11 and embarrassingly on picking up after all the all the grease monkeys had gone ..... battery flat ..... or not enough juice to start. A salesman put a starter pack on it and it fired up.

I have the battery on slow charge now but the amp meter is still stuck on full charge after 2 hours with no sign of coming down.

I must admit that my MOT place has said last 2 Mot's that they detected that 1 cell was dead, or as good as, and advised to replace it to avoid starting or CPS issues.

The truck has shown no sign of bad starting or any funny leccy issues up until last Friday.

a) Could the near full drain have now finally nackered it ?
b) Would I have any recourse on garage because they let it drain .... causing it to get nackered.
c) 12V95Ah800A : what do I buy next? And don't say Optima red top @ 200 quid.

Thanks Gents.
