Gents,

Top tip :

Had an interesting few hours this evening changing the WK's battery.

Something that would take what ? .... 10 minutes tops, took me best part of 2.5 hours.

The chock holding the battery in place in the tray is held down by a bolt/washer through the chock and into one of those flimsy captive nut thinghies.  Over time that rusts away happily so that bottom and top become detached.  Result the bottom one is spinning around and there is no way to get two fingers or nor a pair of pliers down there to stop it - result: you cant get the bolt out of the chock so can't pull the old battery out.

I managed to free the bolt a few turns by hammering a screw driver under the top bit so I got a bit of purchase on the bolt/nut and that just gave me a few mil play on the chock to pull the old battery out .... with a few expletives.

Once out, two fingers and a rag wrapped around the ragged edges of the bottom bit under the tray gave enough resistance to extract the bolt.

Suffice to say that after cleaning up you are left with a neat hole in the plastic tray and no nut to screw the bolt back into hence you can't lock your new battery down.

So gents : If you have a WK have a look if that bolt comes out, and if it does, give it a good dose of grease or copperslip.

It'll save you a lot of grief come battery changing time.
