XJ Brake question
«
on:
May 20, 2006, 11:26:15 PM »
As the `new` owner of a 4.0 `98 XJ I`m led to believe there was a `brake recall` which I`m pretty convinced my vehicle missed. What was the recall for? I only ask as my brakes do squeal a bit now and then.
Anyone shed some light on it for me?

for rust building up inside the rotor causing them to shear off the hub, ring up your local dealer with the vin and they should tell you

Put the last 8 digits of you VIN number in here
http://not-allowed.com/26yq9
This should tell you if any recall work has been missed

cheers guys, as I suspected the work wasn`t carried out. Am I still eligible to have it done FOC by jeep? I could try emailing jeep and see what the reaction is.
If not then I`ll buy new rotors and pads and fire them on myself. :?

It's the A05 recall. If eligible, they'll do the discs FOC but you'll have to pay for pads if they are worn.
