Sorry did a search and found nothing.  I have a 95 xj 4.0ltr, I thought I would do a TPS test, I have only one error code 14, so am going through everything to sort it out.  These are the readings I have with key on engine off, checked with 2 digital and one analogue volt meters.

5.77volt supply voltage to sensors

TPS TEST
.84 VOLTS THROTTLE CLOSED
2.40 VOLTS THROTTLE WIDE OPEN

Does this mean the TPS is faulty and needs replacing? I also looked at my Throttle body and it looks a bit dirty so will be removing and cleaning it.

The supply voltage seems a little high but the output should typically vary from around 10-20% of supply voltage up to maybe 70-80%.
It should vary smoothly between the limits, if you were to use the analogue meter it's easier to see the needle sweep as the throttle opens up.

That said. It seems Code 14 would normally mean Map sensor voltage too low, which could either be the supply voltage to the sensor or the output to the PCM.
