Rear Spare wheel carrier
« on: June 05, 2006, 11:27:07 PM »

I`ve been offered a rear wheel carrier off a `94 XJ. Will it fit my 99 XJ ?(later shape).  :)

Bear in mind I am stunned when it comes to mechanical stuff so if it requires a lot of fiddling and fettling would someone tell me?

No, they don't fit, cos the bumpers are different.

Not sure if you could do it if you swapped to the earlier bumper though.  Worth a thought.  I know KD has got an early style bumper.

No Chris , that`ll do me,good man. The spare can stay in the back. I`m poaching the transfer case skid plate and the sump guard from the older truck for peanuts, just thought I`d chance my luck with the carrier.

They don't come up very often.  Might be worth seeing how much they want for it.  You shouldn't have any problems selling it on.
