CJ7 Heater cables anyone?
« on: May 18, 2018, 05:53:15 PM »

Hi all.

I am currently "re-furbishing" the heater on the CJ7, following a water leak.

(Re-cored heater matrix by Motorads in Redditch. £102 inc VAT...).

Now I want to free up the control cables, and have discovered that one is broken.

It is not one of the cables that directly run from the dashboard controls, it is a "secondary" that runs from one control elbow to another across the face of the heater unit.

Anybody know a supplier of new cables? (lighthouse have not got any...)

Update...

Turns out Lighthouse have actually got them, they just have not got them in their "index".

I hunted them down on an american website ("vintagejeepparts.com") which appears to have an amazing selection of old model jeep parts but which doesn't ship to the UK....

But they quoted a part number for the cable i wanted, so I phoned Lighthouse and asked if they could get one from anywhere, and lo and behold, they came up with one they had on a shelf but not in their "system" (and they were cheaper than Vintage Jeeps as well....).

Done and fitted and a nice refurbished heater fitted and working! Success!
