Up-travel

A bit of a brain wandering sort of question with no correct answer I guess but what’s everyone’s thoughts on suspension up travel?
Previous I’ve always gone for as much as possible without making the vehicle overly high and have chosen shocks carefully for closed length and on my old XJ even mounted shocks on hoops inside to get good up-travel.
Now I’m building a big bus of a Patrol I’m thinking of trying to fit only 2” lift springs because they don’t need much more than just springs and shocks. BUT I still want to try and fit 35s and long travel shocks (8-10” ish travel). I suspect it will be mostly suspension droop with only 2-3” up travel.
Is it going to be shit is the question I suppose?

I've always gone with 50/50 if you want to go fast and 30/70 for slower stuff. The tj only has 2-3" up travel on 10" shocks. Hence the shiny hydro bumps to make it a bit less harsh when going faster.

I reckon it will be ok. It’s always the bumpstops that get overlooked

Shiny hydro bumps aren’t on the current shopping list but I was thinking about them for the JK because that used to bottom out hard driving lanes and tracks.
I’ll give it a go, I’m sure I can always adjust it later.
