2001 xj 2.5 TD exhaust manifold removal
« on: May 04, 2022, 11:45:40 PM »

Hi All, I was just wondering does anyone know the best way to get the nut off of the exhaust manifold, which is hidden behind the downpipe, which connects to the turbo,.., it's wrecking me head., Cheers.

if i remember correctly, you need to remove the starter first, and that is not easy either, not teaching you to suck eggs, disconnect the battery first.

Cheers for that frosty, managed to get them off by leaving the turbo and exhaust manifold attached and lift it out in one piece.

I bent a spanner and undid the nut one  flange at a time, very time consuming. once loose 1/4 drive extensions and sockets with universal joints is another option
