4'' lift on a 98 tj
« on: April 13, 2007, 03:25:39 PM »

hi i recently brought a 4'' superlift kit from quadratech looking through the kit i have a few questions
the front trackbar- instructions say to drill a hole 3/4'' away from the original, was wondering if this sounds ok or would an adjustable trackbar be a better option?
in the kitbox there are 4 rubber dome shaped things with no description also washers that look like they fit with them?, would they be part of the damper assembly?
my tj already has a 2'' body lift and so has the transfer shifter handle kit already on, this kit includes another as the transfer case needs dropping, so am i going to run into problems with linkages not meeting up?
sorry to be a pain but thought i'd check before getting stuck in as one of you may of encountered these problems before, thanks

Hello,

Adjustable front track bars are right hand drive specific and are expensive. I think it is a common pratice to relocate as sudggested in the instructions in the states.

The rubber domes are more than likely the bumpstop extentions.

As for the transfer case linkage leave it and see how you get on, you may get away with it. If it causes a problem you can get a bracket to attach the linkage to the gearbox rather than the body.

The rear track bar will also need relocating.

When I installed my TJ lift, the installation of the rear trackbar relocation bracket required drilling new hole(s), and a spacer to take up the slack between the  new bracket and old.

Can you attach a photo, it might jog my memory, especially if its is of the parts  other photos will jog my mind in a completely different direction.

Easy. Put them in your personal gallery. To do that, click 'Album' at the top of the screen, then a bit down, click 'Users Personal Galleries ยป Your Personal Gallery'. On that page, press the "upload pic" button.

first pic=front top shock bushings
second pic=front shock top fittings i think
third pic=also look like front shoch top fittings
fourth pic= deffo rear track bar re-location bkt but it is for a lhd so it will not fit and will need to be remade or modified or fit an adjustable track bar.
fifth pic= not sure
sixth pic= new extended drop links for front and rear track bars, the long ones are for the front if you dont go for disconnects. the short are for the rear. the big black rubber things fit into where your origional bumpstops are but if you are only going for 31,s you wont need to put those on or if you have no rubbing on full flex you also dont need to fit them. 8)

hi greggmo if that offer is still open i would really appreciate it, whats actually involved, do you modify the stock ones or make new ones? also would the jeep need all springs/dampers fitted, will it be safe to drive over in that state?
not sure exactly when i can come round as still in quite a bit of pain from knee op, also where abouts do you live?
