I have decided to upgrade my rear axle fromn the DANA 35 c . I need to regear, front and back, and can't go without a locker or two. Since my daughter kidnapped the d 44 I found in Canada, I have been trying to figure how to do this for a reasonable cost
Yesterday I found this
dana 44 and dana 30. The 44 has a super 44 kit with arb and 4.56 gears, the 30 has a super 30 kit with arb and 4.56 gears. for $2750.
I was preparing to go pick them up this weekend as I planned on spending a day or two dropping crabpots then Salmon fishing, and .........................................................the freeking out drive is frozen in the up position on the boat. Will not go down.
Now I know crap about repairing hydraulics systems or electrical circuits ( this has 3 relays, and sensors, switches, and all kind of places to shock myself, enough to hit my head on something sharp in the bilge. So before I take a BFH to it, I thought I would just vent a little, and remind myself, that I love Jeeps, cause the Jeep has been in the water more that the freekin Boat.
Think the insurance adjuster would overlook 15 bullet holes in it when they pull it up after it
accidently sinks???
