xj 4.0 93' fluid leaks
« on: December 15, 2007, 05:44:59 PM »

the jeep has been parked up for a couple of days, and on moving it found a small puddle of fluid about 3cm wide. not sure what type, could be oil. it was toward the middle of car around the back of engine bay. are xj's prone to small fluid loss? should i be panicking?

look at the colour if is blackish then its engine oil, if its red then its transmission fluid on an auto or if its clear its generally gear oil if its clear and sweet to taste then its likely to be antifreeze! basically!

Or it could just be the condensation draining from the aircon.

tends to be a largish pool/patch  with aircon tho, and not from startup
